Ravenclaw

"yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

If you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind."— The Sorting Hat

Ravenclaw is one of the four Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Its founder was the medieval witch Rowena Ravenclaw. Members of this house are characterized by their wit, learning, and wisdom. The emblematic animal symbol is an eagle, and blue and bronze are its colours. The Head of Ravenclaw is Filius Flitwick, and the house ghost is the Grey Lady, otherwise known as the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, Helena Ravenclaw.

Ravenclaw corresponds roughly to the element of air, and it is for that reason that the House colours were chosen; blue and bronze represent the sky and eagle feathers respectively, both having much to do with air. The Ravenclaw points hourglass contains blue sapphires.

Common Room

The Ravenclaw Common Room is one of the airiest rooms at Hogwarts. It is a wide, circular room with graceful arched windows that punctuate the walls which were hung with blue and bronze silks and a midnight blue carpet covered in stars, which is reflected onto the domed ceiling. The entrance to the common room is located on the west side of Hogwarts at the top of a spiral staircase, presumably located on the fifth floor, and is a door without a doorknob or keyhole, but a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. In order to enter the room, a person must answer a riddle asked by the eagle knocker; if they answer incorrectly, they must wait for someone else who gets it right. The Ravenclaw's also have their own library within the common room. During the day, Ravenclaw students have a spectacular view of the school grounds, including the Great Lake, Forbidden Forest, Quidditch pitch, Herbology greenhouses and the surrounding mountains.

One of the famous characters from Ravenclaw are:

Myrtle Warren (Ghost in the girl's bathroom)

Professor Flitwick (Charms Teacher)

Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna Lovegood's father and editor of the Quibbler)

Ollivander(wand maker)

Sybill Trelawney (Divination teacher)

Professor Quirrell (One who shared his body with Voldemort)

Penelope Clearwater(Percy Weasley's first girlfriend)

Cho Chang (Harry Potter's first girlfriend and seeker in Quidditch)

Marietta (Cho Chang's Friend and betrayed the DA to Umbridge)

Michael Corner (In DA)

Padma Patil(Indian)

Roger Davies(Took Fleur Delacour to the Yule ball)

Tom Riddle or Lord Voldemort had made a Horcrux (a part of Voldemort's soul) from "The Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw" And had hid it in the room of Requirement where the DA meeting was held.
